My name is Emily! I am a passionate and creative web designer/developer who enjoys building engaging digital user experiences.
I fell in love with what I call the “magic of web design” while earning my bachelor’s in English. For several semesters, I worked as a staff member on the student news magazine, Arches, and its corresponding website (hosted on WordPress). When we uploaded articles to its website, we were asked to think of ways to enhance the experience, not just make it the same as print. For one story, I remember suggesting adding an interactive map. Our advisor allowed me to experiment with different plugins. Through this opportunity, I discovered a blend of technology and creativity that is website design/development.
After graduating and working in digital communications and event support, I realized my true passion was designing and building websites. This past December, I completed an associate degree in web and digital media design.
